Paris, the Riviera, and Italy

Coming June 2014: We will travel to France and Italy!

Our trip starts with a three-day stay in Paris, followed by a two days in Provence, two days on the French Riviera and three days in Italy.

If you traveled with our group just a few weeks ago, you will get a $100 discount off of trip price.

There are also no enrollment or departure fees this year through EF.

I am looking into fundraising opportunities for us, so please check back for more information on that in the near future. One of the great ways to lower our tour cost is to have more people sign up!

Remember, I have to meet your parents in person if you plan on traveling with us, so you must attend at least one of the informational meetings. Once our group is set, we will have other meetings where everyone can meet each other and where we will discuss important travel information.

The first in-person information meeting will be held close to the start of the school year. Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime!

Time to VOTE: June 2014

Let's talk about next year's trip! I'm going to put in a request next week, so get your vote in now on the poll at the top of the page.

The choices for June 2014 are (click on option for link to info):

A) Paris to the Riviera with Italy extension

B) Study French in Nice without extension

C) Study French in Nice with extension

A few thoughts:

  • Option A gives us three days in Paris instead of two. We had two on this trip and know that there is just too much greatness in Paris to jam into two days. Option A also takes us into Italy, which is an exciting new adventure. I will replace Avignon with a different excursion for Option A (perhaps Aix-en-Provence, or maybe somewhere new!)

  • Option A and Option B are about the same price.

  • Option B is very relaxed--very little time spent on busses; plenty of time to explore Nice. Lots of opportunities to do cool things like take cooking classes, see French movies, and lots of free time. I've been told that Option B is a very laid back tour.

  • Option C sounds incredible to me. Adding the extension will add some to the cost, but will allow us the amazing learning experiences and activities of Option B, as well as some of the amazing sights (and then some!) from the last tour.

  • We will not do the Versailles excursion this time, but explore Paris instead.
